New Phone System
We are excited to announce that the Shared Services Center has implemented an upgraded phone system to take advantage of new technology and to streamline your communication needs. This new technology is an investment that we are making in customer service, which is a cornerstone of the SSC.
What is changing?
One new feature that we are particularly excited about is the call back feature. If elected, you will be able to receive a call back when it is your place in the queue. You will no longer need to hold on the line to speak to an SSC representative, freeing you up to carry on with your busy day. In addition, we plan to introduce a chat option in the future. Stay tuned for that!
When you utilize the call back feature, there will be a recording that is played when you leave your number for a call back. This recording will notify you of the phone number that will be returning your call (734-707-9428) and that your caller ID may not display as the University of Michigan, depending on your phone service provider. We are aware of this issue and are working to fix it.
The menus will sound different, and some menu prompts have changed. Please listen closely to ensure the right menu selection gets you to the correct team to handle your inquiry.
