Your MCard is your official University of Michigan ID and an essential part of campus life. It provides access to buildings, services, and resources across campus.

If you have submitted your MCard photo at least two weeks before a distribution event, your card will be ready for pickup at that event.

Important Information

• Graduate Student MCard pickup will take place during the distribution events listed below.
• Cards cannot be picked up prior to these events.
• To receive your MCard, you must present a valid, physical, government-issued photo ID.
• Without a physical ID, your MCard cannot be issued.
• Digital copies or photos of IDs cannot be accepted.

Acceptable government-issued IDs must be unexpired, valid, and contain a photo, name, date of birth, and signature. Primary examples include a state-issued driver’s license, U.S. Passport, Military ID, Permanent Resident Card, or Tribal ID card.

Special Program Instructions

Some Graduate programs distribute MCards directly to their students or have alternative pickup procedures. If your program has special instructions for obtaining your MCard, those instructions will be communicated to you directly by your department or program.

If you receive separate instructions from your program regarding MCard distribution, you should disregard the distribution events listed above and follow the guidance provided by your department.
